Environmental Studies
These services include environmental project management, environmental impact statements and site assessments, hazardous waste management, water/wastewater treatment services, environmental safety and health programs, regulatory compliance and environmental audits.

United is experienced in development and review of plans for hazardous waste management. In this field we provide a complete range of engineering services to comply with regulations. This includes:
- Plant Audits,
- Waste Characterization,
- Statistical Analysis of Results,
- Treatment Methods, and
- Waste Disposal.
United also offers services in the area of pollution prevention and control for the government and industrial clients. For example, United has been involved in several studies of environmental impact due to use of agricultural chemicals such as fertilizers and pesticides. Similarly the Environmental Studies Division has project experience in assessment of point and nonpoint pollution due to industrial disposal practices, feed lot operations and changes in land use practice.
Another area of service provided by United is design and or review of water and wastewater distribution systems and treatment facilities for municipalities. Our specialists are knowledgeable in environmental licensing, permitting and compliance as well as in complex waste water issues such as stringent discharge limitations, reuse of wastewater, disposal of wastewater by land application and/or for agricultural irrigation, and cross-media pollution. Our United staff can help also in facility performance evaluations that will increase the efficiency of operations and maintenance.

We can provide baseline in-plant surveys to determine process stream characteristics and flow rates.
