Water Resources
One of the major strengths of United is our expertise and experience in conducting all types of water resources investigations.
United staff has extensive practical experience to conduct investigations involving the characterization, utilization and protection of hydrogeologic systems. United offers state-of-the-art services, ranging from characterization of soils, surface water and groundwater to the development of aquifer cleanup alternatives.
United provides a multi disciplinary approach to water resources investigations. Typically our evaluations include a comprehensive analysis from fields such as geology, hydrology, geochemistry, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, ecology, biology, archeology, data management, civil and drainage engineering.
United professionals have a proven record of experience in conducting evaluations for site characterizations, geologic studies, aquifer tests, groundwater development and groundwater contamination projects. For hydrogeologic parameter estimation United uses innovative quantitative techniques such as geostatistics and uncertainty analysis to optimize the use of all available data at a particular site. In addition, United staff have conducted numerous studies for surface water/groundwater interactions in fresh water and saline aquifers, artificial recharge, dewatering problems, etc. Also, United provides specialized water supply evaluations in urban/rural areas, for industrial, mining, irrigation, potable and other uses.
United also offers field investigations and sample monitoring networks at contaminated sites. United's engineers have conducted, designed, and implemented contamination assessments in soils, surface water and groundwater due to the presence of hydrocarbons, hazardous wastes, pesticides, acid mine drainage, landfill leachate, etc.
In our water resources investigations, we employ the latest technology available to define among others tasks the conceptual model of the site, assess aquifer parameters, track water flow directions, velocities, contaminant plumes and migration pathways. In this field United stands alone. The cost-effective and fast use of high computing modeling for groundwater flow and transport of contaminants in both the unsaturated and saturated zones are applied in a wide range of services and disciplines.
